Almécegas Cascades

Another beautiful group of cascades to visit are the Almécegas I and II. They´re located in a farm called São Bento, where there´s a visitor center, also in the road linking Alto Paraíso de Goiás with São Jorge´s village (see our previous posts about the Chapada dos Veadeiros and how to get there). Just follow the signs to the Fazenda São Bento.

It is even possible to sleep in this farm, wich has catle, horses, siriemas (a kind of bird), a lake and beautiful fields. 

They charge a day-fee for visitors, which is not expensive. 

The track to the Almécegas is of meddium difficulty and can be done in sometime between half hour to one hour, according to your speed and physicall abilities. The starting point to the track is reachable within a 10 minutes ride in a dirty road.
